Some common issues regarding pick-up in air transportation

1、 Delivery notice

After the goods arrive at the destination by the air transport company, unless otherwise agreed, the carrier or other agent shall immediately issue a notice of arrival to the consignee. The notice of arrival for urgent goods shall be issued within two hours after the arrival of the goods, and for ordinary goods, it shall be issued within 24 hours. The consignee shall pick up the goods at the terminal with the arrival notice and their own ID card or other valid identification documents.

2、 Arrival inspection

If the consignee has any objections to the condition and weight of the outer packaging of the goods during inspection, they should raise questions on site for verification. Otherwise, it will be considered as delivered intact.

3、 Storage period and storage fee

Starting from the day after the air transport company issues the arrival notice for ordinary goods, the air transport company will keep them for three days free of charge for the shipper. If the free days are exceeded, the airport cargo department will charge a certain storage fee according to regulations. Fee standard: A storage fee of 2.00 yuan will be charged for every 10 kilograms of ordinary goods per day. Less than one day is counted as one day, and if the weight is less than 10 kilograms, it is counted as 10 kilograms.

4、 Unable to deliver goods and their handling

If no one picks up the goods after 60 days of receiving the arrival notice from the air transport company and no response is received from the consignor, it will be treated as unable to deliver and pick up the goods. Domestic goods are handled by the airport freight department in accordance with relevant regulations on cargo transportation. International goods are handed over to customs for processing by the airport cargo department.
